>>55489178>mega metagross looks like shit>cross gen evos from gen 2 actually look good unlike mistake evolutionsYou're gonna have to start explaining what makes a good/bad design before I even begin to take this point seriously
>Flygon has Dragon Dance and Levitate, Groudon doesn't.And that's all it has, at least until it gets a Mega Evolution in Pokemon Legends Z-A
>the unique z-move effects are never going to be even remotely as broken as mega evolutionsFirstly, that's an issue. If a special power-up isn't as effective as a garden variety power-up, then including it is a waste of time. Second, Mega Evolution isn't as broken as you say it is
>doing something like jacking up a mon's speed and attack to an insane level and slapping Adaptibility on top of itAs someone who's actually used Mega Beedrill, I can tell you it isn't broken at all. Sure, it's a very strong lead and can one shot plenty of mons, but its defenses are paper thin, especially on the physical side. Any attack at decent power can one shot it and unlike other fast but frail mons it can't rely on Focus Sash to ensure it can take a single hit on account of having to hold a Mega Stone. Priority moves are also an issue for it, especially since a lot of revenge killers use Sucker Punch as part of their moveset. Even Fake Out can be pretty troublesome for it, and don't even get me started on Intimidate users
This is true for all Megas. While some may be absurdly powerful or bulky, they're not invincible and can be dealt with. For example, Mega Rayquaza may be strong and have an ability that lessens its Flying-Type weaknesses, but all that strength means little investment in bulk and it still takes quite a bit of damage from Ice-Type attacks
>it's just that at least unlike megas, every mon can do somethingAnd you still haven't explained why that's strictly better than only the mons that can best utilize the gimmick getting it, especially when trends flow that way anyways
