Their plan is to buy the rights to own certain species so eventually they are the only group that can own any Pokemon.
As you progress through the game, certain Pokemon are copyrighted by Disney and you can’t use them unless you spend a ton of money on fees. Once you beat the CEO of the Disney knock off, all the Pokemon are freed and you can use them again, in addition to several postgame only Pokemon behind the “Disney Vault”.
