Far more women than men are into pokemon in Japan nowadays. They tend to be into cutemons, not waifumons or the typical favorites. They also focus a ton on singular mons instead of general Pokemon stuff, and don't really talk about the actual games (I'd bet they are the modern equivalent of KH fans that write fanart but don't play the games). Quagsire in particular is pretty popular, and its plushies sells a lot online.
