Not really, but as an antagonist, he works much better than many of the villains of the series including Ghetsis.
Also, In B/W you at least are the hero, you ggo on your own journey, explore multiple caves and ruins, different seasons, different weather, more than 180 new pokemon, multiple areas to backtrack to and explore.
It's just overall 10x better.
