>>56524945I agree. The over-the-top cartooniness is a big problem with a lot of nu pokemon characters. Old designs had weight and realism to them even if they were clearly fantastical. I can suspend my disbelief and take old Aqua/Magma seriously as a group of dangerous criminals. New designs on the other hand just look like wacky cosplayers. No groundedness, no danger, just weirdos who look like they're about to do a circus act.
