Pokémon is a game where you catch and train Pokémon, so in any playthrough of any pokemon game I always catch and train as many Pokémon as I can manage without needing to grind. How is this actively kneecapping myself? I’m using items and everything else at my disposal, I’m literally just playing the game like a normal person and engaging with the core goal of the game. If I wanted to I could sweep with just my overleveled starter, so by your logic using any more Pokémon than that is “actively kneecapping” myself.
