I'm thinking akin to the ivysaur msprite from blue version that has a semi bipedal stance (hunched over, not completely upright)
also the flower on it's back has rotted a bit, (the opposite of it growing bigger) making the load on the back lighter, allowing for a more bipedal stance
remember it's semi bipedal, so it would likely only stand on it's hind legs while attacking etc, like many semi bipedal animals, they only stand to reach higher places/free up there arms for tasks and are not suited for standing that way for long periods of time
