Gen 4's atmosphere and slow speed sets up such a calming mood that can't be replicated. Sinnoh just feels like a quiet region, and I really can connect to a place like that. Playing Pearl so much as a kid and playing with my brother also brought lots of close memories as well. I can admit the region is not perfect, but damn if it isn't comfy, I don't know what else is.
My friend uses emulators to speed up Gen 4 games (or any game really, he only plays on emulators), and believes that efficiency comes before comfort. I just think he's impatient.
