>>47821663Ah that makes sense. I did think as i was writing today that i shouldn't have a certain character say what i wanted them to say, but rather what they would naturally say in that situation, and obviously that's the groundwork for any character that we don't control them, but that we throw things AT them for them to react at in a sense, and their growth/reactions to them is what defines their character and choices.
I get what you're saying concerning the Character choice, but in regards to the story and the novelization i think my goal is to create a retelling of the story of Sun and Moon of course with my characters being defined by the unique choices that i would throw at them and the dynamic formed from the characters i bring into the story.
I might be misunderstanding what you are saying with the 'swerving off the beaten path', and i think my characters and the things they have to face to become what they are at the end of the story is what appeals to me, and that i think it's best achieved following the proper story that made the actual characters grow the same way, but of course with what i feel needs to be added to tell that story better.
>Like Gladion's Type:Null serving a purpose of evolving and how him coming to terms with himself and calming down to understand what it is he actually wants for his future is what gives him control of himself and as such Null does the same evolving to easily sweep the UB's that they'd encounter when confronting LusamineIs something that i'd like presented, and that of course requires us as readers to see his starting point, and what causes him to change as well as the switch that causes him to change yet again.
Though when you say that i should swerve off the beaten path i get a bit nervous thinking that i should perhaps change my characters, but i feel that irks me too.
I'm writing Lillie how she is presented with the game, of course with more detail, dialogue, dynamic with other characters etc.
