So, let's look back on the concept that the sprites are mimicking the sugi stle to the best extent they can. Let's look at quetzars sugi and see how that's shaded, and mimic that to the best extent we can.
Dithering needs to be used appropriately, and effectively. The sugi isn't a blurry mess, the sprite shouldn't be either.
