>>23461015My opinion on this is pretty simple:
The more variety we get the funnier the games are. I don't mind legendaries or new additions to currently existing lines because they introduce this variety I mentioned.
Mega evolutions are quite nice concept but you can't have them permanently with you (plus you can only use 1 in battle) and they are cancerous in competitive. This is why I would prefer getting more normal evolutions (even preforms) in newer generations.
Let me fix your post while I'm here:
Gen IV:
>107 new Pokemon>23 Pokemon are additions to previous lines>14 Pokemon are legendaries70 completely new, non-legendary Pokemon.
Gen V:
>156 new Pokemon>Around 14 are similar to Kanto Pokemon>12 legendariesAround 130 completely new, non-legendary Pokemon.
Gen VI:
>71 new Pokemon>6 are legendaries>1 Pokemon is an addition to previous line64 completely new non-legendary Pokemon.
See? If we don't count things like legendaries and additions to previous lines (in form of normal evolution, preforms or mega evolution) generation VI introduced the least amount of new Pokemon. Quality of them (designwise) is a subjective thing.
