It's strange how life works sometimes.
You spend your whole lifetime constantly living in fear of being hurt, hated, or reviled. As a result, all you want to do is blend in with the background, and become anything else. To become invisible. To disappear from the world and wait until the day no one can recall your existence.
And so that's what you do. You solemnly watch as other, more confident Pokémon go out to challenge themselves. They are prepared to come face on with the problems that they encounter. They are not afraid to make a few enemies in the process. You would rather just bask in your solitude and completely hide from the challenges that you face. Other Pokémon like call you a sniveling coward because of this. They say you lack the strength, confidence, or the wit to fight brazenly and with glory. Maybe they are correct. Maybe.
You would think that you would become accustomed to this passive lifestyle, but then the reality of it all sets in. The loneliness is crushing. It slowly eats away at your soul, gradually to the point you where you no longer wished to be a part of this material world, and end the enveloping solitude for all. It is far to late to finally reveal your true colors, to come out and repair your reputation, learn to face your troubles with a blunt skull, and learn to appreciate the love and company of others. But that can not be. The very worst that can happen to everyone is for people to know who you are. Your true colors would stain this red world into a surface as dark as the yawning grave.
That's the way life has to be.
