Nuzlockes ruined main series for me. Can't play regular runs anymore because they're too boring, and can't complete nuzlockes because I'm a fuckwit. Tried for almost ten years and everytime I found some way to fuck it up. Tried allowing the use of unlimited potions, tried ev training, tried over levelling. Yet always found myself stuck in a no-win situation, usually before second gym, nearly always before third.
Had to ban myself from trying them eventually. Was failing multiple runs a week, wasting hours every day grinding up pokemon that'd die soon after. Really started to get to me psychologically to the point I became an alcoholic and lost my job.
Wish I was joking. Almost ruined my life over a children's game. But been on the up since then, getting life back on track. Now I just watch other people nuzlocke on YouTube. It does get to me how easy of a time they seem to have, but at least shit's funny when they do fuck up.
Anyway, just wanted to wish y'all good luck, and don't be afraid to take a break if it gets too much. Shit is supposed to be fun.
