Gen 6 introduced the fairy type (good), but also megas (shit). Gen 7 didn't really introduce anything special except for 360 degree movement, which killed dungeons forever.
They are pretty equally shit overall, but for me it comes down to which one I'd prefer to replay, and that's the one without a talking yokai watch pokedex.
