The game is just have a really ugly and forgettable art style mixed with a very bad choice of colors plus a very boring and forgettable selection of monsters.
I legit would not want to catch a single Temtem even if they were on a mainline Pokémon game. The major reason why so many players still stick to Pokémon games despite how bad they've become is because of the Pokémon, and Temtem wasn't able to get it right.
