Their designs are perfectly fine, the only thing I'd complain is that Meganium looks a little bland, but far from bland. My main complaints would be with the game-design versions of Meganium and Typhlosion, Meganium is just too difficult to use in its base game, and Typhlosion's stats being a mirror copy of Charizard's is just uninspired. Still that's a minor factor, the designs are the main thing.
I think this is just an example of the generational difference between the nuPokemon fans and the older ones. Older fans like interesting animals that feel like a natural extension of the real world, in a fantastical way. It leans more towards the science and /x/ paranormal stuff. NuPokemon fans just want wacky characters and anthros they can masturbate to.
Zoomers are a really sad breed, their dopamine generators are broken and their autism is off the charts. They can't enjoy the simple things of life anymore.
