>>19269070The thing is, they programmed it that way so the each pokemon is unique, to make give certain pokemon a "realistic personality". Some are more stronger than others. The tedious process of IV/Nature breeding, along with maximum EV training was created by players of the games. This is the way of the competitive elite, and isn't really how the game was meant to be played. Yes, it has become really popular, and in a way embraced in X/Y, but it still is only a fan made way of playing.
That being said, as for me, I used to do competitive battling, but that shit gets old and tedious after you do it for a long time. I quit because it made me start to hate pokemon. If you're not going to do it full out competitively, don't bother at all. Just play the game as if you aren't aware of the EV training, etc. And to me, I get much more enjoyment out of the game by playing it that way. The thing is, it's just become so big on the Internet that everyone thinks they have to do it if they are a fan of pokemon. Not to say I have a problem with people who are into the competitive side(only the elitist pricks), just realize it isn't for everyone and isn't necessary.
