The games, as most JRPGs, definitely tend to suck the MCs dick pretty hard, but maybe it's cause the SV MCs look so plain and young that it sticks out harder. Although there's definitely more romance bait in gen 9, lots of characters seem a little too interested in the MC (including Nemona, of course).
