>>53335198I have a theory that there was originally supposed to be WAAY more distance fog and a shallower DoF in order to hide the distant ugliness, but someone at GameFreak, either accidentally or intentionally, left most of the distance fog disabled, and so our eyes are now exposed to way more distant visual noise than they were supposed to. The games were probably meant to look more like BotW. There's a good reason distance fog exists in the first place, and Scarlet and Violet and both examples of why.
