We already know what past pokemon can look like since we see them all the time via fossils, so their primal designs aren't surprising, and so having old records of the past paradox mons makes a little more sense.
You can literally only imagine what future pokemon can look like, hence why they're so on the nose of them having stereotypical trash can robot designs with stupid LED eyes. Having old records of robots also makes no fucking sense, really helping sell the whole "this shit is all fake, and the professor is a nutcase" thing they're going for.
