1. Unova
Absolute great bugs and a shit ton at that. Gen 5 brought justice to bugs.
2. Johto
They were a bitch to get often but the bugs of johto are some of the best. Great designs like heracross, scizor, shuckle, and forretress. Yeah ledian exists but one dud doesn't ruin the greats.
3. Alola
Great designs and unique in battle. The alola bugs are a bit weird but are quite interesting in terms of bugs.
4. Hoenn
Things fall off from here. After the silver age that was johto things kinda went bad for bugs. There were some interesting ones like ninjask, shedinja, and masquerain but nothing insane.
5. Sinnoh
Sinnoh bugs are pretty weak. None of the real new ones like kirketune or vespiqueen were really good and less said about the burmy evolutions the better. Yanmega was great.
6. Kanto
Unfortunately the bugs of kanto are, or at least started, quite weak. They were either early shitmon (butterfree and beedrill) or insanely outclassed (pinsir, scyther, venomoth, and parasect). Fortunately megas and new evolutions helped some but not for awhile.
7. Kalos
One fucking bug line, just one.
Its not a terrible line but a single bug is disgusting.
