GF handled difficulty pretty good in FRLG IMO. Level difference in RB between Victory Road and every other place (bar Cerulean Cave of course) was bullshit but it would be disastrous in FRLG. They added some content between 7th gym and elite 4 to fix that to some degree. I appreciate it.
