I’m always on the look out for appealing black and brown characters (especially female ones), and am tired of the few ones that get made being racially ambiguous/light skins. Plus, despite being able to like cool, slutty’ women, or milf types, I’ve been really craving a kawaii moe archetype Black female character.
So when I saw the Clefable leak, my mind was blown. I’m still a bit in disbelief that a night-black, oujo sama in vivid pastel purple is a real character in a major franchise, and not just some rando’s cool original character design that will never be used in a story. But then again, of course it’s Gamefreak of all companies that would allow this to happen, considering it’s track record. There were other brown Pokemon characters I liked in the past, but none hit my personal preferences as hard as Jacinthe.
Even Nessa, I liked almost purely because she’s eye candy- her personality is just okay, and she doesn’t have any particularly interesting dynamics or actions she does in the story.
I only wish they gave her round lips and nose- unfortunately Pokémon doesn’t actually have a good track record of making those features look good in their artstyle, yet. I suppose it’s for the best her face is racelees. The retro shoujo triangle mouth is really cute.
