Towards the beginning of your adventure you are given berry by a random acquaintance that you soon find out to be the league champion. They tell you that it comes from an island far away but sometimes bird pokemon will travel with them and drop them here. The berry is strange in the sense that it always says that "It has no use whatsoever" but in the description it says something like "A extremely bitter berry used as the main ingredient in X Attack.". Later on in the game you meet a lady working at a stall at the market saying that she makes berry juice with her shuckle and will smash any berry that you give her. If you give her that special berry her Shuckle evolves. You are then able to find the berries in random places throughout the map and can have your own Shuckle evolution.
