The 2D sprite thing I enjoyed but again, opinions and tastes etc.
Patterns are there but it is a kids game.
The overall hand holding was for the kiddies. This game series is still beloved by children and a lot of them don't get the basics. A "tutorial off" would be a nice feature for the future.
Also Black 2 and White 2 had plenty to do post game. Entire towns/cities that could not be accessed till post E4 etc.
It would be like judging gen 4 on just D/P instead of also including HG/SS and Plat.
Gen 6 is going to keep getting better as well imo. Hoping that "Z" or whatever we get knocks our socks off with difficulty and has tons more to explore.
