So I was chatting with a kid at church today who just turned 10 and got Moon for his birthday, and was excited to talk about it because he knew I played Pokemon, and because I'm 20something and older means cooler to little kids, he misguidedly seeks my approval.
He has a 3 mon team of Ledyba, Litten, and Pikipek, and apparently jobbed repeatedly to the preschoolers getting to Ilima because he "never remember
to heal."

He was still losing to Ilima when his 3DS converted to a 200 dollar brick because his parents didn't realize it didn't come with a charger. Meaning he won't be making any more progress until they eventually make a second trip to Gamestop.
Eli as best I can tell is an everyman. He's not particularly more dense or distractable than his peers. This is the proverbial Little Timmy and his mom GF has to design for.
