OK,now the dust has settled and we've played it (Hopefully via piracy, if not I'm sorry you paid over double for this $25 game) lets talk.
Ignoring the negatives, imo there area few things this game introduces to the series that could be put into gen 8 for the better. What would you like to be carried over?
For me it's:
Handheld throwing mechanic: I actually like this. With a bit of tweaking it could be implemented into a regular battle. Weaken the Pokemon, Press Y, limed motion controls to aim, and press again to throw the ball. Of course the benefit of this is to get a higher catch rate/more exp for getting good or excellent, as well as just making the battle a bit more dynamic. Normal auto throwing should be an option too, but you won't get the bonuses.
Following Pokemon: We've been screaming for this since HGSS so I doubt it needs much explaining. It could be expanded on though. Pokemon should be able to interact with the overworld in their own unique ways, some attracting/repelling certain types of pokemon, finding different items, and basically replacing HM's entirely (for example if you go near a cut bush, scyther will automatically go and cut it, or machamp or whatever will interact with strength objects etc)
No more random battles: LGPE keeps this simple, but it could be expanded on to make wild encounters more fun, and make the overworld feel more lived in. Some pokemon can hide in grass/trees and leave small hints of their existence visible, some can run from you, some can ambush you etc.
What do you think?
