Having someone being overprotective to that degree, murdering someone who gave a wrong signal, and potentially snapping at any moment and killing you sounds more like someone I'd fear rather than love.
I can kinda see the appeal of a succubus Gardevoir, but I just don't get Yandere. What's the appeal?
I also haven't seen that one anime that did it originally, so that may be why
