>>53730569I did say it wouldn't be much different. But the main difference would be in the way it's presented, I guess? They'd need to push it as a concept and encourage the idea going forward. Encouraging it would be the big thing. If the games creators pushed this as a concept more, then not a lot would change for them outside of the loosening of some responsibilities (they could take longer and be more free to say yes or no to specific sprites) but the community would be much more likely to make their own packs which would mean a lot more options for the player. It's about how aware people are of stuff like this and how likely they are to chose to do it on their own as well as how available this sort of shit is openly and what the alternatives would be.
It would also POSSIBLY make the game smaller in terms of file size. Removing the custom sprites and just using the base ones, I mean. Then the packs would make the game bigger or smaller depending entirely on what the player themselves want to add. If you don't like centaurs or Bara, don't get the pack. Suddenly all those sprites are gone from the original and your version of the game is smaller, too. It's not by much, mind you (each sprite is like 10kb), but that shit adds up.
