Gen 5 is a really solid region, if you ask me. The one thing that always erked me about it was how linear it was. For example, In gen 1 you could tackle Sabrina before the grass gym leader (I forgot her name), which made the game a lot more interesting on subsequent playthroughs. Other than the linearity, Gen 5 was great, mostly because of the pokemon designs, music, story, and fair difficulty.
