If you want to cover as many types as possible it’s better to have 6 pokemon with different types rather than waste a teamslot on a lv10 HM slave. Also, Surf and Fly are basically auto picks on your water or flying type
>surf for your water type>fly for your flying type>strength for any mon that needs good neutral coverage>cut and rock smash for pokemon with shitty level up movesets (cause they wouldnt use the fourth moveslot anyway)>nobody needs flash or defog anyways, just read a fucking mapOther water hms (whirlpool waterfall dive etc) are probably the only ones i use hmslaves for. These moves are completely redundant worse versions of surf, and I dont want to add a second water type to my party only to burden it with these shitty moves, so in the literally 2 or 3 instances in the whole game when i need to use each of these i just bring out a pokemon from the PC.
