How about the 3DS pokedex? There's a reason why they introduced Pokemon because there was no real legitimate way to complete it and have all pokemon.

The dex cut wasn't a problem when Pokemon Go was released. It wasn't an issue either when Let's Go cut them either.

This community allowed this to be the norm by defending how poorly the dex was handled in prior installations.
Ex 1: As with all games, Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon have got a massive amount of Pokémon to collect. However, despite this, there are still various Pokémon that are not available in the game and require transfer from previous games through Pokémon Bank. There are 246 different Pokémon that are currently unavailable in these games.
Ex 2: There are exactly 351 Pokemon obtainable in Pokemon Sun and Moon
Ex 3: Y has 557 different species
Ex 4: B2/W2 649
