She has a personality that is more than just "pokemon trainer" and she has a story that showcases both her growth and her failings. It also helps that she isn't annoying like a certain blonde haired alolan girl.
Naturally you are free to feel however you want about her, but to say that Marnie is one-dimensional is just flat-out incorrect. There are hundreds of one-dimensional pokemon characters in the franchise you can name, but if you genuinely think Marnie is one of them then you must have slept through Sword & Shield.
