These vaguely humanoid Pokémon are thought to be most closely related to Gothitelle. Most people know Mawile for the huge, gaping jaw-like horns that jut out from their heads. These horns are metallic, but unusually light; studies show that their internal structure under a microscope resembles a honeycomb, giving them both stability and lightness. However, the “bite” force from these pseudo-jaws is one of the strongest known to man, capable of pulverizing stone and metal. The sharp spikes lining the lips of these horns function like teeth to hold onto prey and prevent their escape.
