>>50393627>Iris is back, the only thing she did was to shit on AshYou probably wouldn't know this since you didn't actually watch all of Best Wishes, and I can understand why, but this actually isn't so much the case like people like to repeat. Iris called Ash a kid, sure, but she does that to everyone and eventually gets consistently called out on being one as well and eased up over time. Plus, while Iris would tease Ash, the moment someone else would actually antagonize and shit on Ash, she was the first to get up in their face and tell them to fuck off while defending him strongly. When a whole crowd was against him, she'd cheer louder than all of them together to support Ash despite making a couple of joking remarks to him before or after the match. And despite everything, the two do genuinely enjoy spending time together. Iris even deliberately follows Ash back to Kanto originally because when he sated he was going back, she wasn't ready to part with him yet. Kinda like Dawn was going to before the plot said "No". Iris get shipped off of the show and over to Johto in a similar fashion to that as well, but one of the last focus episods between Ash and Iris is them having a falling out, it affecing their Pokemon, the two realizing they were wrong and are important to each other and exchanging gifts. Iris giving Ash an apple, which are her favorite that she never shares with others aside from Axew, and Ash giving her a flower that she puts in her hair for the rest of the episode. The idea that Iris just blatantly shits on Ash is completely wrong and based on the first episode people saw her in despite her also being the only companion who followed Ash on her own accord because she found him interesting.
Make no mistake, Iris likes Ash a LOT. He may be a dumb kid, but he's a cool dumb kid and HER cool dumb kid that she can also enjoy being a kid around. There's a reason why she rached out to him and wanted to surprise him so badly about her being a Champion.
