Just caught up with PM after hearing about Ash vs Volkner. Series is pretty fucking good, Goh isn’t even that bad not sure why so many people sperg out about him. Actually, he is one of the most interesting companions in a LONG time, just that his potential isn’t really being realized. I feel the main part of this is due to how JN as a whole is written, but maybe Project Mew will bring out the best in him and add some consistency to his character. Koharu started off strong to me but it feels like shes stagnated recently. The only reason why her sporadic appearances felt okay was because her character would evolve each time she appeared, but that isn’t the case now, so its a double whammy of sporadic screentime and lack of change, making her feel kinda boring.
PWC was pretty rough throughout the Normal and Super classes, with a few exceptions. However, Ash vs Volkner was stellear, and if we can expect 3v3s like that throughout the Hyper Class I’m looking forward to it.
There have been lots of character returns, really a shocking amount. They’ve been well managed for the most part, only one that really fell flat was the Alola one imo. Gary’s was the best episode of the series thus far, and Dawn and Iris were both pretty decent. Some of the new characters, like Bea and Tsurugi interest me as well. Really like Bea shitting on Korrina, adds some inter character interaction without Ash being the catalyst. the pathetic coomer in me really wants to see a barefoot martial arts battle between korrina and bea but lets put that aside
