>>41564608Rose's character makes more sense if you think about it in a real world sense. He's an eccentric really rich corporate tycoon who has his reach just about everywhere in the region. He controls the pokemon league, the energy supply, the transit, etc. corrupting those who follow him (Oleana and Bede), and attempting to control a dangerous power supply (Eternatus) to solidify his control. His champion Leon is naive to his ways but has a good heart so doesn't go along with Rose's plan in the end. Rose knows that you becoming champion will completely ruin his plan since you would make the right decision. So he makes a desperate gamble to force Leon's hand, only for you to swoop in and ruin everything. All throughout the game the adults are telling you to not worry and go about your business, until you have no choice but to intervene. This game tackles themes like corporate corruption, climate change, and the generational gap.
