>>54276529>Mew and Ditto are still the only Pokemon capable of learning TransformTransform was designed for Ditto, it's his signature move, the whole idea of a mirror enemy is an rpg staple and it needs no other lore behind it.
The inclusion of Mew in game was an afterthought so it learning Transform even moreso. Mew with Transform is just one of the ways to express the concept of a fetus with endless possibilities which is also why it also borrows Metronome - Clefairy's signature move - and can learn every single TM.
>Still have same colorThe original sprites in the super gameboy, which according to Sugimori was the first time they had to think about the Pokémon in color(this was long before he made the official promo art that codified the looks we have today) and yet despite how limited their color choices were, Ditto and Mew do not share a color palette.
>and weightThis might seem impressive because of the ameriburger localization as 8.8 lbs seems quite specific but in reality it's just a rounded number of 4kg. From gen 1 alone Mew and Ditto also share the same weight as Shellder and Bellsprout.
>Ditto's ability as a universal breedernot present in the original games, just a retroactive contrivance of the retarded gen 2 breeding system for gameplay purposes
>Ditto also appears in Cerulean Cave in R/B and Yso did Mewtwo gave all the dittos a piggyback ride when it escaped? or did they follow his trail because reasons?
The following pokemon are also present at Cerulean Cave in R/B/Y:
arbok
raichu
sandslash
golbat
gloom
parasect
venomoth
kadabra
weepinbell
graveler
magneton
dodrio
hypno
magikarp
poliwag
goldeen
slowbro
kingler
seadra
seaking
wigglytuff
electrode
marowak
rhyhorn
rhydon
lickitung
chansey
As you can see it's a ridiculously extensive and arbitrary selection so it's a bit silly to single out one of those pokemon as having a special meaning
