>>55629481that's because of another specific idea i had about the vanilla gym. all the trainers and the gym leader would only use one pokemon, but you would also only be allowed to bring in one pokemon. because monogamy or something. and i think that novelty would be lost if it was the first gym, where you're likely only using one or two mons anyway.
but i'm not too picky about most of the gyms.
