>Top left is the pencil tool, you can right click for different options>At the top right is some options like being able to see current layers, but right now lets click the white box with a black circle in it>these are your current brushes>After selecting the brush you want, you can move onto the top left and click one of the squares>This lets you pick a color>Ignore all the numbers and just use the mouse to click on the color you want>From there its just drawing linesOnce again, very basic. But that is the first real steps in drawing in GIMP.
Things like brush size and the hardness of the tool can all be adjusted, but that's getting into more options that might be too much.
