rock has literally zero redeeming qualities. where good bug types or ice types still benefit from their typing in less direct ways, such as quiver dance, sticky webs, snow abuse, etc. the only thing rocks get for being rock type is the least reliable STAB in the game and a spdef boost in the worst weather condition. seriously, just compare megahorn to stone edge. it's fucking sad. every single rock type, save for ttar who sets its own sand, would be better off not being a rock type.
the type inherently needs insane bullshit a la glimmora/garganacl or massively inflated BST to even be usable. so, simply put, rock is unequivocally the worst type in the entire game.
fun fact, it's also the only type that has never had a mon in ubers save for its token arceus form. even bug has genesect and pheromosa. even normal has mega kanga and bloodmoon ursaluna. hell, ice has three ubers from this gen alone. but there are literally no rock types in the entire history of pokemon that have ever been too good for OU.
