>>37044806Totally. Ignoring Diamond/Pearl, Platinum is the first of the three DS games so going in order will let you appreciate some of the many QoL improvements. Platinum itself has a huge amount of Pokemon to capture, the region is big and pretty and there's a lot to do. It's also one of the hardest Pokemon games so you'll surely have a lot of fun with it. Just be patient since, even if it's a massively improved version over the originals, the HP bar still depletes too slowly. It's also my favorite game in the series, so I can assure you you'll enjoy it tenfold.
From there just go in release order. HGSS are amazing Gen 2 remakes, while BW and B2W2 are the pinacle of the series before it began its decline. B2W2 is also a sequel instead of a third version so I highly recommend you to play it after the first two.
