I guess you could say Pokemon is easy to pick up, but difficult to master. I don't really even think mastering it is that difficult, though. Competitive battling just requires you to understand EVs and IVs, remember some basic team-building concepts, and predict your opponent's moves. That's it. It seems like it would be a good game for casuals to make the transition into pros.
