>>47572427There are three components to Darwinian evolution, the cornerstone of Atheistianity:
[0. A priori epistemic justification for the reliability of perception, reason, and memory, subject to Hume's razor]
1. Cosmic evolution, Chemical evolution and Abiogenesis.
2. Natural, Sexual, Artificial Selection
3. Transmutation of species, negative entropy, and Deep time
4. Historical materialism and dialectical materialism (optional)
[Only the second one has actually been observed scientifically, the other two are accepted a priori]
If we accept morphic resonance and epigenetics guided by a noosphere, Darwinian evolution is plausible even without Deep time.
>The guidebook Pocket Monsters: The Animation gave a bit more detail on the Pokémon. Specifically, they were rumored to have been created by God on the seventh day of creation as "doodles", and since they were created on holiday, they were commanded to neither rule over nor be ruled by humanity. It also inferred that they had some relation to merpeople and dragon myths, and that their species was discovered by a French nobleman named Count Tajirin (a subtle reference to franchise creator Satoshi Tajiri) during the 18th century.Regional variations are evidence of natural selection, but there isn't any fossil evidence of "common ancestors" in Pokemon, but we can ignore this due to ludonarrative dissonance (they're not going to bother designing ~3000 intermediate stages for 898 Pokemon). Many of the fossil Pokemon have been spotted alive today.
If Mew contains the DNA of every Pokemon, how could Darwinian evolution cause transmutation of species in all the other Pokemon without changing the DNA of Mew too?
There is a possible explanation for this, but it's closer to the argument used by creationists: all the normal Pokemon are descendants of Mew after mutations caused specialized adaptation (by losing DNA information).
