A is definitely the most appealing and readable from a distance. Maybe reserve the pattern and texturing in a more blown up image? Having the blobs all over the body kinda competes with the face in terms of detail. Though if you really want to preserve the pattern then you can nerf the body by a brightening the face and putting the body in shade, just like B.
Not sure about the horns since it muddles up the body. Maybe distinguish the shape by darkening the body further?
