>>53677741I have to admit I’m berating myself for thinking Lillie was a bit of a brat in the anime. Lusamine loves her, sure, but Lillie doesn’t want to be treated like a child, and it frustrates her. She also has her feelings hand waived away and disregarded by her mother, impairing her ability to find comfort in her mother, essential to a mother-child bond. She even has to find roundabout ways to justify how she feels using rationality, dispute emotions being irrational. I can relate. I don’t want to make my parents sound bad, as it’s likely my inherent mental issues, but I never really felt I could confide in anyone, really. I always wanted to rely on myself, and also seek to rationalize things. She shouldn’t have said she hated Lusamine(in the dub, at least). The games do it better when she says she’s fed up with Lusamine’s selfishness. The Lillie I love wanted to help her mother regardless and would travel to another region to help her!
