I'm 31.
In 1999 (seventh grade) I got $75 for my birthday and gave it to another kid at school for his clear Game Boy Pocket and copy of Pokemon Blue. That kid got pissed at me for deleting his save file with a Charizard named Birdhouse in order to start my own game.
It's been love ever since. I remember going to my local mall for an official Red/Blue tournament held as a promotion for Pokemon Stadium 1. You had to beat two rounds of other trainers using link cables and then you got a chance to connect your cartridge to a Pokemon Stadium demo station and challenge a Nintendo rep to a battle. I beat the Nintendo rep with Gengar, Golem and Pidgeot. The prize was a shitty baseball cap.
I remember finding early Misty hentai on AOL and printing out copies of the pictures to hide in the pages of books on the shelf above my bed. That one picture where she's sitting on Staryu was a favorite. I stared at the pic attached every night under the covers and kissed it before I fell asleep.
I remember downloading the Japanese ROM for Pokemon Gold before it ever came to the United States, and struggling through the game without having any fucking idea what was going on.
I played on and off through the consequent generations, remakes, and so on. Some I enjoyed, some I found kind of dull. I never take them too seriously, though. They're about having fun! Sun and Moon were okay. I liked a lot of the new designs and the setting was cozy. The supporting characters, cutscenes and plot were tiring. I'm looking forward to SM2.
