>>55921138>Venusaur/Charizard/BlastoiseThey all get the Gen 1 Pass but Blastoise is clearly less popular than the other two
>Meganium/Typhlosion/FeraligatrNone of these are "popular" anymore, they've always been mogged by Gen 1 and Gen 3. Typhlosion at least has gotten new love from PLA and getting his fire back.
>Sceptile/Blaziken/SwampertProbably the most solid group, everyone likes these guys
>Torterra/Infernape/EmpoleonInfernape is very popular and Torterra also gets plenty of love, it's Venusaur-adjacent. Empoleon is overshadowed but not disliked.
>Serperior/Emboar/SamurottFirst starters that were not popular even in their own time. Samurott even got mogged again in PLA going up against Typhlosion and Decidueye.
>Chesnaught/Delphox/GreninjaGreninja is still popular but it's obviously fallen out of favor with Battle Bond and Protean being gutted. It's still in fucking Smash Bros though, it's more relevant than 95% of other Pokémon. Delphox is the first starter to get mogged by its middle-evo. What's a Chesnaught
>Decidueye/Primarina/IncineroarIncineroar is extremely popular but the other two are also well-liked, Decidueye particularly getting a boost from PLA.
>Rillaboom/Cinderace/IntelleonYou're out of your damn mind if you don't think Cinderace is popular, that is prime furbait and just a good Pokémon in general. Rillaboom is also unavoidable as one of the best starters in competitive. Nobody cares about the lizard.
>Meowscarada/Skeledirge/QuaquavalQuaquaval is the clear loser here for being too fruity but this is the strongest lineup we've had since at least Gen 7. Meowscarada is squarely in the Cinderace/Incineroar zone of being prime furbait and a very good Pokémon, while Skeledirge is both a unique design and the strongest starter ever made in-game wise, with a solid competitive niche for staying power.
