Look, you're free to like Gen 7/8 and whatever gimmicks they introduced instead of meaningful mechanics, but it doesn't change the fact that most people who were alive before then still long for the quality that HGSS/BW2 had and just wish the games could go back to that.
XY was the last time the BARE MINIMUM was met. Of course there are people pointing out how they're not as shit now that we've gone two generations with things getting worse and worse.
