Most of what Game Freak is doing is NOT streamlining.
Every time you hear someone talking about them streamlining Trash Go, for example. remember they think asking to see a cute Pokémon when neither contests nor their stats appear in the game exist to possibly make it streamlining since streamlining would involve teaching you how to play.
All of the gym conditions are supposed to be streamlining and none of them are streamlining at all since they're worthless at best and actively harmful for new players who are supposed to be the target of them at worst.
